SERVANT PASTOR TEACHER
Dr. M. Lamont Littlejohn, Jr.
The Reverend Doctor M. Lamont Littlejohn, Jr. is the Servant Pastor/Teacher of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina. A native of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, he is the son of Deacon Marion and Mrs. Jeanette Littlejohn. He commenced his proclamation ministry at age 17, and his pastoral ministry at age 26. Since 2003 he has served Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and under his leadership, the congregation has experienced spiritual growth in God’s Word and spiritual direction in the effectiveness of “doing” ministry.
Dr. Littlejohn believes in theological and biblical preparation – with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. He received his Master of Divinity degree from the M. Christopher White School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from the M. Christopher White School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University.
Dr. Littlejohn serves as an Adjunct Professor at Gardner-Webb University and currently, he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Gardner-Webb University. He made history as the first African American to serve as the chairman at his alma mater, Gardner-Webb University.
Dr. Littlejohn, also serves on the Cleveland Community College’s Board of Trustees. He also made history in 2019, as the first African American to serve as the chairman of Cleveland Community College Board of Trustees.
Dr. Littlejohn has received numerous accolades from both Religious Organizations and the North Carolina Public School System.
Dr. Littlejohn has traveled to Kenya, Africa and has experienced preaching and teaching upon the African continent in the city of Magori, Kenya. He has also experienced study tours in: Israel (Holy Land), Egypt, Turkey, and Greece. His desire is to be a son of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and his passion is to connect with all types of people and build relationships with those individuals – one soul at a time!
Dr. Littlejohn is married to the wonderful and lovely H. Nicole (Nikki) Littlejohn, his best friend of over 25 years. They are blessed with a daughter, L’mia and a son, Lamont III.
